Another post in my series about Eastern Ontario towns and events.  It is a known fact that one rarely acts like a tourist in their own locale.  I’m trying to change that by visiting towns and community events in Eastern Ontario.

We visited Rockport, on a glorious summer day.  Rockport is in the Thousand Islands area of Ontario.  TheThousand Islands is a world famous destination made up of 1864 islands in an incredibly beautiful combination of granite rocks, luscious forests, and incredible wildlife. The Village of Rockport was once the hub of activity in an era where millionaires made their summer homes amongst the islands.

We decided to do the “touristy” thing and take a boat cruise.  We traversed into the United States for awhile and then returned to Canadian waters.  Here is a snippit of this beautiful area.
