We arrived at Taipei harbour in mist and fog. It has a population of 2.5 million people living in a sub-tropical climate with abundant rain and moderate temperatures year round.

We took an excursion to Yeliu Park. This park is home to unique and dramatic limestone rock formations that have been carved out over time by the wind and sea.

We also took a ride up the mountain to visit “The Princess of the Sea”. This large white statue is revered by local fishermen as their “protector”. She provides for their safety.

Our excursion today culminated in a visit to another temple and outdoor marketplace, laden with various seafoods and stuff.

The rain continued for the rest of the day and into the evening. If tomorrow is nice (weather-wise), we’ll take a stroll into this harbour town of Keelung.
